Steve Alessio
Manager - Alumni and Corporate Programs

Steve or Big SES (as he is affectionately known around the traps) has been a part of the team for nearly five years. He oversees all things Player Development including induction and exit support programs, education and vocation programs, wellbeing services, indigenous and multicultural services and providing support and professional development opportunities to all AFL club Player Development Managers. He has also enjoyed reinvigorating the services provided to all past player members with the introduction of the AFL Players’ ALUMNI network.

Combining studies and work in the areas of business and IT and his AFL experience as a player, have led SES down the path of program development and support services for all past and present AFL Players. It is an area he always had a passion for even when he was playing by mentoring a lot of the younger Essendon players throughout their careers.

A northern suburbs boy, he enjoys having a laugh in the office and will often be seen (or heard) getting a few staff together for a few old (not so funny) footy stories or jokes at his expense.
