With 163 games (over 11 seasons) of AFL Football under his belt, former Hawthorn player, Rayden Tallis is no stranger to the pressure facing elite footballers today.
While juggling his football commitments, he undertook a Bachelor of Applied Science ( Sports and Coaching Administration) and in 2004 , at the end of his football career, completed his qualification while working at the Collingwood Football Club as an assistant PDM.
Passionate about player welfare on and off the field, Rayden is the Project Manager for Career Transitions at AFL Sportsready and oversees the Next Goal and Football Apprenticeship Programs. In this capacity, he has assisted over 150 AFL players into work placement, providing invaluable opportunities for players preparing for life after football.
Excited about his continuing work with the Next Goal Program, Rayden has forged strong relationships with many of Australia’s’ most successful organisations to facilitate placements for players transitioning out of the Football industry.
Known to one and all as “ Radar”, he is a man who thrives on being busy, coaching Year 10 ( Football) at Scotch College; is just about to complete his Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance( Financial Planning). He lists one of his passions as gardening, though he insists, he is no Jamie Durie – ( he might have the looks..but he’s far too tall!).
He maintains his first loves are his family and football. ( And if you ask his wife, it's definitely in that order!).
