Bernie Shinners

Bernie has been a member of the team at the PA since 2003 and had previously acted as a lawyer for the PA from 1998 to 2002. Bernie takes calls from Player Agents and Players on matters relating to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Standard Playing Contract as well as assisting players with grievances with AFL Clubs and the AFL. From time to time, Bernie will appear before the AFL Grievance Tribunal for players. Bernie also assists other members of the PA team with legal matters and agreements the Association has with sponsors and service providers to the PA.

Bernie is sometimes referred to as the Silver Fox to distinguish him from the other fossil in the PA – John Hogan. Apart from spending time with his large family, Bernie spends his time helping out his local football club the Craigieburn Eagles and Assumption College.
