The right of AFL players to wear the type of boots they prefer was a hard fought win for all AFL players.

Previously, AFL players were only permitted to wear the brand of boot which sponsored their club. But thanks to lobbying by the AFL Players' Association, on behalf of all AFL players, AFL players enjoy the right to wear the type and brand of football boot they prefer.

So footy boots really are, a tool of trade.
