Buckley, Hird win Footy Achievement Award

The footballing achievements of Nathan Buckley and James Hird could not be split as they were both awarded the GNC LiveWell Football Achievement Award.

Nathan Buckley debuted in 1993 with Brisbane, but made his name with his beloved Magpies. Buckley's achievements include; six time Collingwood Best & Fairest; Collingwood Team of the Century; Collingwood Captain 1999 - 2007; Magarey Medal 1992; Brownlow Medal 2003; Norm Smith Medal; Seven time All-Australian - 1996, '97, '98, '99, '00, '01, '03, AFL Rising Star Award 1993, 280 AFL games.

Debuting in 1992, James Hird played 253 games with Essendon. Hird's list of football accomplishments include; Five time Essendon Best & Fairest, Five time All-Australian - 1995, '96, '00, '01, '03, Brownlow Medal 1996, Norm Smith Medal 2000, Essendon Premiership side 1998 & 2000 (Captain), Essendon Captain 1998 - 2005, named at number three on Essendon's all-time list of players.

The Football Achievement Award was accepted on the day by Nathan Buckley and Tania Hird (pictured above with Nathan Buckley).
