In January 2009, the AFL and the AFL Players' Association will be jointly conducting a Level 2 Coaching Course for experienced, retiring and recently retired AFL players who wish to pursue a coaching career or test their interest in coaching.

WHEN:

SATURDAY 17th JANUARY 2009 - 8:30am - 6:00pm

SUNDAY 18th JANUARY 2009 - 8:30am - 5:30pm

The course is a specialised Level 2 program essentially geared towards those aspiring to AFL Assistant Coaching positions and includes the following content:

Developing a coaching philosphy
The role of the assistant coach
Communicaton and instructing skills
Coaching psychology
Game-based skill coaching
Game plans, strategies and tactics
Physical preparation
Media relations
Other state of the art content delivered by expert presenters in each field, including coaches from AFL clubs.
